Yoga Retreat Day in San Jose

Center for Spiritual Enlightenment

Saturday, October 19, 2024      10:00 AM – 4:00 PM  $60
with Julianne Rice, Divya Zuccaro, Carolyn Bowman

“The purpose of Hatha Yoga is to prevent either hemisphere of the brain from dominating the other, to create a sattvic state.”
Hatha Yoga Pradipika with commentary by Swami Vishnu-devanada

Our theme for this Fall Yoga Retreat Day will center on how Hatha Yoga enhances sattva guna—the quality of harmony and balance. Sattva guna represents tranquility, lightness, happiness, purity, calmness, kindness, patience, and compassion.

Hatha Yoga, a transformative practice, helps you create a harmonious relationship between body and mind. Join us to discover how to cultivate a healthy, relaxed body that becomes the perfect foundation for a sattvic mind—a mind that is steady, calm, and joy-filled.

This Hatha Yoga retreat day offers a unique opportunity to slow down, dive deep and open to the experience of being vibrantly alive, clear and focused.

Through our Hatha practice, we deepen our concentration and we naturally move toward inner wisdom and a state of contentment. Spending more time in a sattvic state draws one toward meditation, spiritual study, and a simple, mindful way of living.

Join us, at the beautiful Center for Spiritual Enlightenment, for asana (posture) and pranayama practice (with Julianne and Carolyn), community activities (with Divya), free time in the gardens, moments of silence, and a delicious, nourishing vegetarian lunch.
